The adapter body has a central socket (4) at one end for a tool (W) and a cylindrical shaft at the other end for sliding into the tool socket of the tool holder. At least one elastic ring element is inserted in a ring groove (7) which is provided in the sleeve face of the shaft and protrudes outwards to contact the wall of the tool socket. The actuating element (6) for adjusting the rotational position of the axial stop in the tool socket is fitted detachably on the shaft.
