The toothed sprocket wheel is built up of pressed sheet metal parts. The sprocket wheel body has bulging parts (29) which reach up to the teeth. The teeth project on one side in the direction of the rotational axis of the sprocket into a space whose width is less than the min. width of the chain sideplates. At least some of the teeth are cut back, in a common plane.
