Securing catch for tipping surface on lorry - has retaining catch and remote release inside hollow support

The tipping surface of the vehicle is dropped over a cone shaped head (9). This head is mounted on a sprung shaft (10) nad it has the head locating in a recess in the tipping surface. The securing catch (14) drops into place behind the head and is normally accommodated inside the hollow support section of the tipping surface. The catch mechanism, as well as the remote release for the catch are protected inside the hollow frame from damage and dirt, to provide a reliable operation.
