Egg carton with support plate - has separate cover leaving some egg tops free to be enclosed by transparent sheet

The egg carton has a support plate with protrusions formed in it. A cover (2) separate from the plate (1) leaves the tops of some of the eggs (15 free, and is supported by protrusions (10, 11, 21), extending downwards, from the plate. A clear transparent perforated sheet (3) fits closely round the whole carton. The cover can be of corrugated cardboard and made from a single flat sheet, from which the protrusions are cut out and folded. It can have a fold line along two opposite edges, the distance from the fold line to the outer edge, determining the height of the protrusions, being at least equal to that for which the eggs protrude above those in the support plate.
