The recesses are arranged in lattice form, esp. in the shape of a square lattice grid. It can have additional curved laying recesses, pref. in the form of circles or segments of circles, with radius equal to or a multiple of, the lattice interval. Recesses can have a parallel, or almost parallel, sidewalls with top corner roundings and a semicircular base configuration. The form may be panel-shaped with granulated mineral or metal fillers in the surface layer. This obviates need for retainer fittings and danger of laying with excessively narrow radii; no skill is needed for laying.
