Pneumatic ejector for mechanical press, esp. transfer press - with emergency mechanical ejector if pressing jams in upper die

At each work stage of a transfer press, the ram contains a compressed air cylinder (a) employed to drive ejector rods which push the pressed workpiece downwards out of the upper die. If the cylinder fails to remove the workpiece, and the latter ramains stuck in the die, an emergency ejector is hit by, and actuates, the piston rod in the cylinder. The emergency ejector includes =1 carriers mounted on the press head. Each carrier is fitted with a slide driven horizontally by a cylinder; on the slide is an adjustable limit stop which is hit by the piston rod so the latter drives the workpiece out of the upper die. Instead of using a compressed air cylinder, the slide may be driven mechanically or electrically. Ejection is ensured, even when the pneumatic ejector fails to work.
