Heat exchanger tubes with heat transfer vanes - staggered relative to adjacent sets and of specific dimensions

The Parent Patent describes a heat exchanger, of the liq.-gas or gas-gas type, typically for use in a dry cooling tower. The tubes lie in parallel planes transversely to the direction of flow of the fluid outside them and are equipped with radially projecting vanes oriented in the direction of flow and staggered relative to those of adjacent tubes both parallel to the direction of flow and perpendicularly to it. In the Patent of Addition, the dimensions of the vanes are defined as follows: length (L) 2-10 (7.5)mm; where Cn is the distance in mm between adjacent aligned vanes of the same set perpendicularly to the direction of flow and parallel to the heat exchanger tubes, the ratio Cn/L is 0.25-2(1.0); where Cp is the distance in mm between successive aligned vanes of the same set in the direction parallel to the gas flow, the ratio Cp/L is 0.75-4(1.0). Improved efficiency of heat transfer is provided.
