Fumes and smoke produced during gear teeth cutting, i.e. fumes emanating from hot lubricated parings on contact with atmosphere, are eliminated by boxing in the cutting tool so tool and parings are immersed in lubricant during cutting and paring extraction. The base tool comprises a subframe (1) mounted reciprocable cutting tool support (2) which is enveloped by two lateral panels (11, 12), a base panel (13) and a frontal panel (17), the combination serving as a reservoir for cutting fluid. The frontal panel is fixed to the sub-frame so it slides relative to the other panels. Coil springs (21) maintain the frontal panel (17) bearing on the other panels and the panels are apertured for parings extraction.
