A blade (6) which presses on the glass has a flexible extrusion with locating arms (7) on each side. The blade is gripped by four metal stirrup pieces, one pair towards each end of the blade. The blade can only slide in these stirrup pieces and is held by metal strips in a firm manner. The stirrup pieces are fitted to bow shaped metal parts (5). At the centre of these is hinged the main bow shaped support, at the centre of which is an opening to receive the arm, held by a pin. A metal backing can be fitted on top of the blade. The stirrup pieces comprise main and auxiliary pieces, each auxiliary piece (10a) bearing on a rigid smooth moulded plastic plate (14) recessed into the top of the blade.
