The gas heated water boiler or other gas heated apparatus with a set of parallel burner (2) with the gas supplied to each from one end, and an igniter jet (5) at the centre, at the other end, and with an L-shaped distributor member (6) at the supply end, to assist all the burners to light from one another, as in the main patent, incorporates an additional screen placed at a lower level to ensure complete ignition even when a strong draught or suction takes place through the combustion chamber. This screen consists of a set of tongues (11) bent into an L-shape, of a length to suit their distance from the flames, and their distance from the distributor (6) being determined by the amount of air passing through the chamber.
