A steam distribution system has one or more user devices between a vapour supply system and a set of drain pipes for the condensate, operating particularly under gravity. There is at least one direct connection (8) between the supply (2) and drainage (3) systems, and a stop valve (9) can be incorporated in this connection, which can be attached to the supply system at the lowermost point of the latter. The connections can include a siphon with a set of condensate return piping.
