The junction box for office telephone or mains supply lines has an open-topped box as base to hold the necessary electrical devices. A cast cover closes the box during use. The base lies beneath the office floor covering. A temporary cover is used to close the box instead of the permanent cover when, because of modifications, the box is not in use. The box contains supports for supply connections and telephone devices. The temporary cover prevents office materials such as paperclips falling into the box during modifications. It can be crewed on to prevent tampering.
