Data processing system memory - identifies words in different categories by comparison with stored boundary conditions

A data processing system has a memory for a number of multi-bit words, of which each represents the delimitation of one category or class of information words in a list of such words, which is broken down into categories or classes. These words are fed into the memory in a sequence related to the sequence of the words in the list, but in a different predetermined address sequence. A comparator makes series comparisons of an information word to be identified with multibit words read out from the memory in a sequence determined by the comparator.
