Protamine zinc insulin additives - to tissue culture media for prepn of viral vaccines esp mumps and german measles

A viral vaccine in which the virus is grown in tissue culture in presence of protamine zinc insulin (PZI) esp. 0.05-0.5 units/ml. Specif. claimed are vaccines against German measles and mumps. Presence of PZI gives increased growth of cells, both in quality and quantity, increased life of cell monolayers in tissue cultures and addition of ill-defined products. e.g. animal sera or foetal extracts is avoided.
