The carburettor has a pump with a variable volume chamber connected to a constant level chamber by a passage in which is a valve. The pump chamber is also connected to the intake of the carburettor upstream of its throttle, by a pipe at the outlet end of which is a calibrated orifice. The chamber contains a diaphragm connected to the throttle by a linkage, the pump chamber wall adjacent the constant level chamber being formed of a material with a high thermal conductivity. This pump chamber wall is separated from the outer chamber wall by an insulating insert formed by part of the diaphragm.
