Rubber tile for supporting bath - has metal cover plate to spread load to prevent compression of rubber

To prevent the deformation of the tiles of a bathroom floor under the weight of the bath, a composite tile is fitted underneath each of the feet of the bath. The composite tile consists of a square of rubber (1) covered by a metal plate (2) of the same area. A second plate (3) is provided with a recess (4) to receive the foot of the bath and attached by rivets (5). The square of rubber provides electrical, thermal and acoustic insulation. The metal plate spreads the load and so prevents deformation of the rubber. The recess (4) in the upper plate (3) provides a location for the foot of the bath and prevents any tendency to slip.
