Air filter whose filter elements are exposed to physical damage - given second, internal filter as a safeguard

The filter elements are mounted at the sides of a box into which air is sucked, a shake is sufficient to clean them, but they are liable to physical damage. To safeguard the filtering action against this eventuality, a cartridge filter is put inside the suction chamber, downstream of the main filters. The cartridge filter is pref. a cylinder of pleated filter paper, mounted removably between two airtight faces.
