The building has a heating circuit in which water is pumped from a heat exchanger through a condenser to room heaters and back to the heat exchanger. A similar cooling circuit pumps water from another heat exchanger through an evaporator to room cooling units. The condenser and evaporator are linked in a refrigerator circuit and there are bypasses round the room heaters and coolers. The two heat exchangers are served by two primary circuits from a bank of reservoirs. The reservoirs are linked to the two primary circuits by three way valves so the water can be transferred between the heat exchangers and the reservoirs in any desired way.
