Brake for safety rescue cord - has fixed and movable plates forming zigzag channel and adjustable position for person to control descent

The brake controls the descent from a height of a person using a safety rescue cord. It comprises an outer casing (1) housing two springs steel plates (5) forming a zigzag channel for the cord (2). One plate is fixed (6) in position, the other has free movement limited by compression of the cord. This compression provides the braking force and is regulated by the position of the weight of the person using the brake. The suspension point (10) for this person is adjusted by means of holes (4) in the lower side (3) of the outer casing.
