摘要
The source of excitation for sparking from electrodes in an emission spectrometer enables heavy metallic samples to be analysed. High energy sparking is performed in two phases. In a spectrometer used to analyse metallic sample (3), the sample acts as one electrode with a plane surface (31) pressed onto conducting surface (41) by clamp (5). An opening in conducting surface enables electrodes (9, 10) to be positioned by carriers (7, 8) coupled to motors (11, 12). Radiation from sparking passes along passage (61) and via lens (2) to form spectral image. Argon flows along passageways (61, 62, 63) to circulate adjacent to sample.
