Anti-picking mechanism for lock - has multi-rib male and female members with extra notches providing false partial engagements

The anti-picking mechanism is for incorporation in locks using the engagement of male (20) and female (10) locking bits. A lock incorporating the mechanism has pivoting segmental female plates (10) with rectangular notches (16, -26) cut in the circular edge (14) remote from the fulcrum. The male (20) has an 'E' section with a shorter and thicker centre bar (28). The bars (28, 30) enter the reciprocal prim. (16) and sec. slots (26) in the female (10) at release. Further sec. slots (26) are provided and result in limited alternative engagement by the sec. bars (30).
