A conveyor extends over the horizontal bottom of the container. A discharge opening, which can be closed, is provided in the end of the container at the downstream end of the conveyor. A screen is provided between the conveyor and the products in the container. The screen is retractable progressively from the downstream end of the conveyor to the upstream end so that products are released into contact with the conveyor in the region of the discharge opening.
