An inductor for forming metals by the pressure of a pulsed magnetic field comprises a magnetic field concentrator with a coil inducing eddy currents. The concentrator is made up of electrically insulated dies with an opening for the workpiece, so arranged that the plane in which the concentrator is split extends along the opening. This design of the inductor permits improving the power characteristics, simplifies its operation, extends its service life.
