The lightweight crank is particularly for the pedal of a racing bicycle, allowing the centre distance between drive shaft and pedal spindle to be adjusted. It has an orifice appreciably larger than the diameter of the pedal spindle, and which accommodates a complementary component to which the pedal spindle is screwed. The spindle can form the bolt and the component nut, tightening up locking the latter in place. Both orifice and nut can be round, while the tapped hole in the nut for the spindle is eccentrically situated.
