A mobile crane intended for work in docks is mounted on a vehicle fitted with pneumatic tyres. The column is mounted on a horizontal pivot attached to the turntable and is normally held vertical by the jacks. The crane boom is pivoted to the column in such a way that when the column is in the horizontal position the boom lies on top of the column also in a sensibly horizontally position. The crane can then be moved without need for further dismantling.
