The vehicle seat which has a lower base (30) and with the seat (1) flexibly mounted by springs (24). The springs are in two assemblies and are symmetrical relative to the vertical base bisector. There are two pairs of crank arms (22) pivoted and joining the seat and base. The crank arms of each pair are coupled to a sliding part running in a horizontal slideway. One sliding part has an adjustable stop to control the seat position relative to the base. The crank arms are joined by a tension spring (33).
