The table lamp is telescopically adjustable and may be pivoted around its base which is heavily weighted to prevent overbalancing. The hollow rectangular supporting column encloses a pair of concentric hollow cylinders. Spring-biased pins in the inner cylinder snap into any of a number of apertures in the outer cylinder, allowing 360 deg. rotation of the horizontal arm about the column. The support arm is welded to the inner cylinder, and has a U-shaped cross-section with inturned edges. The lamp-holder slides inside the support arm along ball-bearings. L-shaped brackets welded to the vertical walls of the lamp-holder support the plate to which are attached several fluorescent tubes.
