The telephone accessary provides taped music, advertisements etc. for a caller who is waiting for the person required. The taped material is held in a cassette and is automatically transmitted when the handset is placed on the shaped cover of the player and can be coupled into further handsets by the use of paralle induction windings. Placing the handset in position operates a switch to the equipment via a lever powering and switching on the player and amplifier circuit. Coupling to the handset is via a coil in the top of the equipment housing.
