The hybrid computing system is designed to solve two and three dimensional boundary problems for equations of the elliptic and parabolic type. In particular the area of application is that of heat transfer diffusion problems. It may be used to determine the pressure of a filterable liq. a different points of an oil field. A digital computer estimates a probable soln. A peripheral hybrid processor simulates diffusion processes. The hybrid processor contains a random signal generator whose outputs are connected the integrating inputs of a simulator for generating the error path of a random diffusion process. The simulator's outputs are connected to a function converter.
