The urban transport control system has recording and signalling beacons arranged along the route of the buses. Each bus has a transmitter on board which sends signals to the beacons. The signals transmitted from the buses contains information which includes vehicle identification, its route, its direction and distance between it and the following bus. The information also includes the elapsed route real since departure of the bus from the terminus. The elapsed time is measured by a clock on board the bus and each of the beacons has a clock including a device of recording hermetical route time and max. theoretical route time. Comparison is made between theoretical time, theoretical max. time and real time. The difference is used to control the operation of traffic lights at crossroads.
