The freed-fibre spinning device comprises a hollow, cup-shaped rotor 1 having a re-entrant edge and a casing having an internal boss of revolution 23 which is coaxial with the rotor. The freed fibres are fed to the rotor through a duct which passes through the casing and opens tangentially into the rotor. One-half of the feed duct is located on the front face of the boss 23 whilst the other half is located on the internal face of the casing in the immediate vicinity of the boss. This design permits a reduction in depth of the rotor and overall length of the device, reliable cleaning by centrifugation and efficient control of fibres. IMAGE
