DEVICE FOR READING INFORMATION ON TYPESETTING AND TYPING PRESSURE FOR ELECTRIC TYPEWRITER FOR JAPANESE CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To automatically adjust typing pressure on the basis of typing information applied to a type itself, by providing a permanent magnet inside a type bar and coils on the peripheral part of the type bar and installing a converter, a detector and a switching unit. CONSTITUTION:A type 2 is pushed into the hollow part 6 of a type bar 4 by typist's key lever operation. The completion of the charging of the type is detected to energize coils 8, 10 through a switching unit to cause magnetization at the same polarity as a permanent magnet 12. The magnet is moved leftward by repulsion against the coils 8, 10. As for a face provided with a groove 26, the permanent magnet 12 is inserted into the groove so that a switching member 20 is brought into touch with contacts 22, 24. A decoder performs decoding on the basis of a signal showing the touch to cause typing by the type 2 under appropriate pressure. As for a face not provided with the groove 26, no touch takes place. Various kinds of typing pressure information can be obtained depending on touch and nontouch.
