REPAIRING COATING METHOD OF METALLIC PAINT FILM

PURPOSE:To obtain repaired coat with no difference in color from the other portions by the procedure in which a specific cold-drying type metallic paint is sprayed on a position to be repaired of a 2-coat and 1-baked finish metallic coat, and then while the paint is not hardened, a cold-drying type clear paint is sprayed on the coat. CONSTITUTION:A cold-drying type metallic paint, containing the same metal powder of an average grain size approx. 1-10mu larger than the metal pigment contained in the metallic paint used in an old paint film to be repaired and an ethylether solvent, e.g., ethyleneglycol monobutylether, or an ether ester solvent, e.g., 2- ethylbutyl acetate, boiling at 160-180 deg.C, in a proportion of 5-20% on the basis of the total solvent content of paint, is coated by spraying at a atomizing pressure of 4.5-6.0kg/cm2 on the surface of a coated object to be repaired. Then, while the paint film is not hardened, a cold-drying type clear paint is coated on it as a top coat.
