A method of explosive cladding of metals characterised by interposing a barrier of a material, such as herein described, between the layer of explosive and the flier plate, the layer of explosive being spread such that is borders are extended up to, or slightly beyond, the edges of the flier plate so as to clad the metallic pieces up to and including the edges thereof.
