A granular drying agent, is packed into hollow profile spacer bars for insulated windows using a machine with conveyor belts, across a cradle frame (3), moving parallel bars. It has feeders delivering strips of plugging material, an applicator for plugging end piece into one of each bow, and manipulators pushing the enclosed ends into a sloping position in a container (22) where granular material trickles down to fill the bars. Further units then plug end pieces into the open ends.
