Procedure for the production of a high build white coating with high covering power which is characterised in that one applies, to the surface which is to be coated, a pigmented coating material which contains: a) a synthetic resin or a mixture of synthetic resins which contain photosensitizers and if appropriate polymerisation accelerators, and b) magnesium titanate and hardens under ultraviolet radiation, in which the coating material if appropriate contains stabilisers and/or fillers and/or an inactive solvent or thinner and/or paint additives and/or softeners.
