Reservoirs for liquefied gases - for transport and storage under pressure with lobe-type compartmented tanks

Reservoir for the storage and transport of fluids under pressure, particularly for marine transport of large quantities of liquefied gas, has rectangular transverse section and with upper, lower longitudinally extending side walls composed of a series of partially cylindrical lobes, and dished or lobe type end walls. The junction plates connect the nodes of the intersection of opposite walls intersecting at right angles in such a way that the interior of the reservoir is divided into parallel tunnels of rectangular, e.g. square, cross section deliminted by the junction plates. Construction provides a better use of the hull space and better stress distribution in the metal.
