1413463 Laminated window pane FLACHGLAS AG DELOG-DETAG 5 June 1974 [5 July 1973] 25022/74 Addition to 1317368 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions C7 and B2] A heat-reflecting window pane having a visible light transmissivity of 20-60% comprises (a) a transparent support layer (2), an absorption layer on layer (1) and consisting of a metal, metalloid, or alloy, layer (2) having a thickness such that the transmissivity of layers (1) + (2) is 10-65% less than that of layer (1), the refractive index and absorption coefficient of layer (2) being of the same order of magnitude for visible light, (3) a layer of Ag or Cu on layer (2) and (4) a layer of dielectric on layer (3), layer (4) being substantially absorption-free for visible light and having a refractive index more than 1À7 when the pane is installed; the coatings are indoors, and layer (4) may be coated with a transparent protective layer, or another glass sheet, either adhesively attached thereto or provided as the other pane of double-glazing. Layer (1) is typically glass and may be glowdischarge-cleaned prior to application of the coatings by vacuum vapour deposition. Layer (2) may be Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, or alloys thereof, e.g. 20 Cr-80 Ni, layer (3) may be 150-400 Š, and layer (4) may be ZnS.
