ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURENovel tricyclic compounds represented by the followinggeneral formula I Iwherein:the symbol A represents one of the following groups -CH=CH- and -CH2-CH2-;R is selected from hydrogen, an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms,an alkoxy group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, hydroxy, or benzyloxy;R1 is selected from hydrogen or a lower alkyl group containing 1 to 5carbon atoms;R2 is selected from hydrogen, methyl, carboxy, carboalkoxy in which thealkyl group contains 1 to 5 carbon atoms; di (alkyl)-carbamyl in which thealkyl group contains 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and hydroxy methyl.The compounds of the invention have anti-reproductiveactivity.
