METHOD OF REMOVING FLY ASH PARTICULATES FROM FLUE GASES IN A CLOSED-LOOP WET SCRUBBING SYSTEM

AbstractA method of removing fly ash particulatessuspended in industrial waste gases generated from thecombustion of fossil fuels in a totally enclosed scrubbingliquor circuit whereby an inert diluent such as N?2SO4 isused for inhibiting the dissolution rates of the alkalineearth, silica, and clay mineral ingredients in the ashwhen the collected particulates are intermixed andsuspended in weak acid solution produced in the wetscrubbing process. The diluent may be added to the systemor, if the waste gas contains significant amounts ofsulfur oxides, it may be formed in situ.
