ABSTRACTA horizontal electrostatic precipitator for removingdust from dust containing sulphurous gases, which consists of ahousing accommodating chambers arranged along the length of thehousing and communication with one another. These chambers areformed by vertical partitions secured to the upper, lower andside walls inside the-housing. The first chamber downstreamthe gas flow is used for uniform distribution of the gas to becleaned in the following chambers. These chambers are providedwith vertical grounded electrodes arranged in parallel to oneanother and used for precipitating the collected dust. Locatedbetween the grounded electrodes at equal distances therefromare electrodes supplied with a negative potential.
