OPTICAL RESONANCE PUMPEDTRANSFER LASER WITH HIGH MULTILINEPHOTON-TO-SINGLE-LINE PHOTONCONVERSION EFFICIENCYABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURELasers are disclosed wherein trapped multiline laserradiation from a DP laser is employed to pump a DP-CO2 workinggas mixture within the optical resonator for the DE laser. Themultiline pumping energy is resonantly absorbed by the DPcomponent of the working gas mixture and collisionallytransferred to upper energy levels of lasing transitions inCO2. A narrow-band optical resonator disposed about theworking gas interaction region with the pumping radiationand tuned to a desired CO2 transition enables a single linelaser output to be obtained on the desired transition.
