ABSTRACTA safety cap for rebar (concrete reinforcing steel) andpipe ends protecting, for example, from unfinished construction workprotects workmen and passersby from injury resulting from strikingthe projections. The cap comprises an integral, hollow, cylindricalbody of resiliently deformable plastic material closed at one endand open at the other. At its closed end the body mounts a radialimpact head of enlarged diameter. The open end of the body is slitlongitudinally to provide an expandable gripping lip. The hollowbore is stepped to provide shoulders accommodating rebar and pipeends of varying diameter.
