Arranged in a box (2), in the region between a filling orifice (3) and a dispensing slot (4), is a conveyor screw (10), on which newspapers (5) are supported, standing on their back. After a coin has been inserted, the conveyor screw (10) provided with an actuating crank (15) is released for one complete revolution. The end of the conveyor screw (10) has, underneath the dispensing slot (4), a screw-cone termination (12) which serves to release a single newspaper (5) after each revolution. A higher screw flight (17) prevents the possibility that a further newspaper will be extracted. The dispensing of the newspapers takes place by utilising gravity, so that the customer needs to exert less force to draw the purchased newspaper through the dispensing slot (4). IMAGE
