1291536 Stabilizing polymers CINCINNATI MILACRON CHEMICALS Inc 19 April 1971 [11 Feb 1970] 21546/71 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] PVC and polypropylene contain as u/v light stabilizer a 2-hydroxy-4-isoalkoxybenzophenone of formula C 6 H 5 .CO.C 6 H 3 (OH)(OR) in which R is a C 6-10 isoalkyl group. Exemplified PVC compositions also contain distearyl azelate and dibutyltin isooctyl thioglycolate, and in some cases TiO 2 and/or acrylic impact modifiers. Exemplified polypropylene compositions also contain distearyl thiodipropionate and the tetrakis ester of pentaerythritol with 4-hydroxy- 2,6-ditertbutylphenyl propionic acid, and in one case also 2,2 - thiobis - (4 - tertoctylphenolate)- n-butylamine nickel (II).
