Roll and swivel brake for castor wheel - with cam operated spring to grip wheel and block castor bearing

The castor wheel forks are fitted with a foot operated cap at the front end, arranged so that it easily kicked down or lifted with the toe. The cam has a nose which presses onto a profiled leaf spring whose bent end acts as a brake surface on the castor wheel, with castor wear compensated by the flexibility of the spring. The spring is pivotted between two press studs some way along its length and has tags at its other end to move it into, and hence block, the swivel bearing.
