Revolver with sliding barrel - has circular cavity in shell drum accommodating barrel rear end

The revolver has a drum rotating in its frame with shell chambers arranged on a pitch circle. The revolver is designed to fire shells of different length and for this purpose the barrel is slidably mounted in the revolver frame, reaching into the drum to a given depth. The rotating drum (10) has at the rear end of the inserted rifled barrel (13) a circular cavity (11) and the barrel reaches into this cavity close to the shell chamber (9) containing a shell ready for firing. A fixed insert (15) is fitted into the drum cavity (11) and its rear flange covers the shell chamber, however, a shell opening is provided.
