The thetre seats etc. have side pieces which support the arm rests from where a tubular arm (1) follows the inner wall face of the side piece and extends down in a curve. This arm can be displaced along a suitably curved column (2) by means of a displacement coupling or guide so that its position can be changed and then secured. The columns projects upwards from the base member (3) which supports the side piece, and the arm and the column can be fastened together at various vertical and extended positions so that the position of the side can be adapted to the height and inclination as determined by the floor.
