The wind-recording wheel is arranged in front of the support mast and is directed vertically against the wind. Strong wind (5) pressure rotates the wheel about a swivel axis upwards out of the wind direction. The wind wheel is held in the position against the wind by a counterweight suspended with two cables. The pivot shaft is arranged horizontally below and at an angle of 90 deg. to the wind wheel shaft. When the wind wheel is pressed up, the counterweight is drawn up with it by means of the cable arrangement. On declining windpressure, the wheel is drawn back into the position against the wind by the load of the suspended counterweight.
