Sounding arrangement without polarization error of elliptically polarized electromagnetic waves according to azimuth and/or elevation has two crossed directional aerials (1,2) and one receiving aerial. Suitable electronic controls (7,8,9) generate from each of three voltages in their zero passage narrow pulses which are used to switch through the other two voltages. Pulse controlled releasing units (10 to 15) are provided for switching through the aerial voltages at the correct time. The releasing units (10 to 15) act on digital computing units (16,17). After analogue-to-digital conversion and storage, computing programs are carried out in order to determine elevation (EPSILON) and azimuth (ALPHA) which are indicated (21,22).
